The Dve Stolitsy ( Russian Две столицы , German transcription: Dwe Stolizy) is a river cruise ship that was built in 1961 in the GDR at VEB Mathias-Thesen-Werft Wismar as a series II 588 ship and for the Rodina class (project 588) heard. The German name is BiFa type A (inland passenger ship type A). From 2004 to 2016 it was named after the Soviet theater and cinema actor Anatoly Papanov .

The river cruise ship with hull number 144 with three passenger decks was built in 1961 in the GDR for the Soviet Union under the name KE Tsiolkovskiy ( Russian К. Э. Циолковский , German transcription: KE Ziolkowski) . It belongs to a prepared 1954-1961 series of vessels 49 of the type Rodina , in two divergent series of batch ran. The first series of 11 ships of the V. Chkalov class and since 1957 the second series of 38 ships of the Kosmonavt Gagarin class.

history

1961 to 1981 the ship was operated by the White Sea Onega shipping company in Petrozavodsk (Belomoro-Oneshskoje Parochodstwo) before it was handed over to the Moskva shipping company in Moscow. In 1993 the Soviet flag was replaced by a Russian one. In 1998 KE Tsiolkovskiy was sold to Tatflot in Kazan and in December 2004 to Wojasch in Rostov-on-Don , where it was renamed Anatoliy Papanov . After the first trip in 2012 Rostov-on-Don - Moscow, the Anatoliy Papanov , since 2016 Dve Stolitsy , was used on the various routes from Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Incidents

  • On August 5, 1996, the KE Tsiolkovskiy crashed into a rock on Valaam.
  • On the afternoon of July 12, 2001, a fire broke out in the engine room of KE Tsiolkovskiy during the cruise Kazan - Saint Petersburg - Kazan at the pier on the Neva in Saint Petersburg, after which the river cruise ship sank. The same captain Roman Lisalin took part in the rescue work, where he suffered severe burns, who in 2011 took 77 people from the sunken Bulgaria on board the Arabella .

Furnishing

All cabins are equipped with a toilet, shower and sink, refrigerator, television set with satellite TV reception and central air conditioning. There are two restaurants for 70 and 50 people respectively and two bars on the ship.
