Anca Graterol , b. Vijan (born October 14, 1952 in Bucharest , Romania ) is a German - Romanian singer , music producer , composer and guitarist .

Career

The film The Young Ones with Cliff Richard and the Shadows , which the young Anca saw in the cinema in 1963, is regarded as the initial spark to become an electric guitarist and manifested the desire to form a rock band. First appearances as a singer with a school band go back to 1966. She founded her first own band in Bucharest in 1968 under the name Catena, which is considered the first female rock band in Romania . As a successful band, Catena toured Romania, played in large halls and stadiums and also had television appearances. With the song "Dorinta (Opatina)" the band landed a summer hit in Romania in 1974. Catena existed until 1977. Due to the socialist system, the band were repeatedly placed in the way that prevented international success. This led Anca to decide to emigrate to Germany .

From 1978 to 1980 she played in various bands in order to gain a foothold in the German music scene. At the end of 1979 she brought her former band members Ortansa Păun Elberg and Lidia Creanga Rich also to Germany and tried a reunion of Catena, which failed because no suitable bassist could be found. She then founded the German band Catena in 1980 with male members. When Rosy Vista was founded in 1983, Catena broke up. Rosy Vista broke up in 1990 and was reactivated in 2002. The band has been touring again since 2018 and recorded their first full album. Further stations in the career were Big Mama & the Kids, Moulin Rouge, Purple Pirates, Red M, Osssy and Ignore the Sign.

Private

She was born on October 14, 1952 in Bucharest . In 1973 she married the native Venezuelan Henry Graterol, which gave her the opportunity to emigrate to Osnabrück in 1977 . In 1982 she moved to Hanover . There she met her current partner, Ossy Pfeiffer , with whom she plays in the band Ignore the Sign. Together with Steve Mann, she acquired the Frida Park Studio in 1996. She is still active in this studio with her partner to this day.
