The Andijskoje Koisu ( Russian Андийское Койсу ; Georgian ანდის ყოისუ , Andis Qoisu ) is the left source river of the Sulak in the Russian Republic of Dagestan and Georgia .

The Andi Koysu arises at the confluence of Pirikiti Alasani (Russian Pirikitelskaja Alasani ) and Tuschetis Alasani (Russian Tuschetskaja Alasani ) in Kakheti in the far east of Georgia. It crosses the border to Dagestan and flows mainly in an easterly direction south of the Andijski ridge . The Andijskoje Koisu is a typical mountain river. It is rich in rapids. Eventually he meets the Avarskoye Koisu coming from the south and unites with him to form Sulak.

The Andijskoje Koisu has a length of 144 km. It drains an area of 4810 km² in the east of the Greater Caucasus . It is mainly fed by the meltwater from the mountains. Between May and August it leads to floods. 9 km above the mouth, the mean discharge is 69.6 m³ / s.

The Russian -Turkish name of the river (“Andischer Koisu”) refers to the Andean peoples living in the catchment area , just like the name of the other Sulak source river, Avarskoje Koisu, to the Avars .
