Andoni Iraola Sagarna (born June 22, 1982 in Usurbil ) is a Spanish soccer player who last played for New York City FC in the North American MLS .

Career

Like many of his teammates, Andoni Iraola also chose the tried and tested route to professional football. After a successful career in the youth department of Athletic Bilbao , he went to CD Baskonia for one season and then played in the second team of Athletic for two years. From 2003 he was a regular in the first team of Athletic and had earned a permanent place in the traditional Basque club as a versatile right-footer. In August 2008 he made his debut for the Spanish national team against Denmark . In addition, Iraola has already played for the Basque national team .
