André Bergdølmo (born October 13, 1971 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian football player . He was mostly used in the left-back position. He is currently an assistant coach at the Norwegian football club Lillestrøm SK .
Career
society
Bergdølmo started his career in Skjetten and went from there to Lillestrøm SK , for whom he played from 1991 to 1996. His most successful time was at Rosenborg Trondheim . There he played from 1997 to 2000 and was Norwegian champion three times.
In 1997 he was called up for the first time in the Norwegian national team, with which he competed at EURO 2000 . After the tournament he moved to Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie . With Ajax he became Dutch champions in 2002 and won the KNVB Cup . In summer 2003 he moved to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga . After his contract expired in summer 2005, he went to FC Copenhagen in Denmark. In March 2007 he returned to Norway and signed with the first division side Strømsgodset IF .
At the end of the 2008 season he ended his career as a player. Since then he has been the assistant coach at Lillestrøm SK and occasionally plays for the Norwegian eight division club Sørum IL.
National team
Bergdølmo made his debut for the Norwegian national team in 1997 . Although he missed the 1998 World Cup , two years later he took part in the European Championships in the Netherlands and Belgium . He was used in the group stage in all three games; Norway was eliminated as third in the group. Bergdølmo made his last international match on November 12, 2005 in the relegation match for qualifying for the 2006 World Cup against the Czech Republic , which Norway lost 1-0. Since the Norwegians were not qualified after the relegation, Bergdølmo was denied participation in the World Cup. He played a total of 63 international matches.
