André Berghegger (2013)

André Berghegger (born July 5, 1972 in Osnabrück ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and lawyer . From 2006 to 2013 he was mayor of the city of Melle . He has been a member of the German Bundestag since October 22, 2013 .

Life

Berghegger attended elementary school and orientation level in Ostercappeln from 1978 to 1984 . From 1984 to 1991 he went to high school in Bad Essen . After he had done his basic military service from 1991 to 1992 , he completed an apprenticeship in the upper general administrative service in the district of Osnabrück from 1992 to 1995 . From 1995 to 2000 Berghegger studied law at the University of Osnabrück . From 2000 to 2002 he completed his legal clerkship . He then did his doctorate from 2002 to 2003 at the University of Osnabrück with Professor Jörn Ipsen . Berghegger was Head of Finance and Economics from 2004 to 2006 and full-time mayor of the city of Melle from 2006 to 2013. He has been a member of the German Bundestag since October 22, 2013.

Berghegger joined the CDU in 1996. From 1996 to 2001 he was a member of the Ostercappeln municipal council for his party. In October 2012 he was elected deputy chairman of the CDU district association in the Osnabrück district.

Berghegger is married and has two children.

In the 2013 federal election he was a direct candidate of his party for the Osnabrück-Land constituency , which he won with 53.1% of the first votes. In the 18th Bundestag Berghegger is Regular member of the Home Affairs Committee . Berghegger has been a full member and chairman of the Budget Committee and the Audit Committee since the 19th electoral term. He is also a deputy member of the Committee on Home Affairs and Home Affairs.
