The Bundestag constituency of Osnabrück-Land (constituency 38) is a constituency in Lower Saxony and includes the municipalities of Bad Essen , Bad Iburg , Bad Laer , Bad Rothenfelde , Bissendorf , Bohmte , Bramsche , Dissen , Glandorf , Hilter , Melle and Ostercappeln as well as the Osnabrück district Joint communities Artland , Bersenbrück , Fürstenau and Neuenkirchen . The constituency was newly established in 1980 and has remained unchanged since then. Before 1980, the communities in the constituency belonged to the constituencies of Lingen , Osnabrück and Nienburg . Since its inception, the constituency has always been won by the respective CDU candidate.

For the  2017 federal election  on September 24, 2017, 18 state lists with six direct candidates as well as one further direct candidate were admitted. André Berghegger (CDU) was able to successfully defend his direct mandate with 45.56%. The turnout of 75.98% was below the national and state averages of 76.15% and 76.44%, respectively.
