André Perraudin

André Perraudin MAfr (born October 7, 1914 in Bagnes , † April 25, 2003 in Sierre ) was Archbishop ad personam and Bishop of Kabgayi .

Life

André Perraudin joined the order of the White Fathers and was ordained a priest on March 25, 1939 .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on December 19, 1955 Vicar Apostolic of Kabgayi and Titular Bishop of Cataquas . The Vicar Apostolic of Nyundo , Aloys Bigirumwami , donated him episcopal ordination on March 25 of the next year ; Co-consecrators were Joseph Martin MAfr, Vicar Apostolic of Ngozi , and Louis Van Steene MAfr, Vicar Apostolic Coadjutor of Bukavu .

He attended every session of the Second Vatican Council . Pope John XXIII elevated the Vicariate Apostolic to an archbishopric on November 10, 1959 and he was appointed archbishop . Pope Paul VI downgraded the archbishopric to diocese on April 10, 1976 and he was appointed archbishop ad personam . On October 7, 1989, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
