The diocese Ngozi ( lat. : Dioecesis Ngoziensis ) is an in Burundi preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Ngozi .

history

Pope Pius XII founded the Apostolic Vicariate Ngozi on July 14, 1949 from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Urundi . With the bull Cum parvulum it was raised on November 10, 1959 to the rank of diocese, which was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Gitega as a suffragan diocese.

It lost parts of its territory in favor of the establishment of the following dioceses:
