Gervais Banshimiyubusa

Gervais Banshimiyubusa (born September 9, 1952 in Gisuru , Burundi ) is a Burundian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bujumbura .

Life

Gervais Banshimiyubusa received on 4 July 1981, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 10 May 2000 it appointed Pope John Paul II. To Coadjutor Bishop of Ngozi . The bishop of Ngozi, Stanislas Kaburungu , ordained him episcopal on September 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Bujumbura , Evariste Ngoyagoye , and the Bishop of Ruyigi , Joseph Nduhirubusa . On December 14, 2002, Gervais Banshimiyubusa became Bishop of Ngozi, succeeding Stanislas Kaburungu, who resigned due to illness.

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Bujumbura on March 24, 2018. From March 24, 2018 to January 25, 2020, Gervais Banshimiyubusa was also Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Ngozi.
