André Ramseyer
André Ramseyer (born January 31, 1914 in Tramelan , Canton Bern , † January 15, 2007 in Neuchâtel ) was a Swiss sculptor .
Life
Ramseyer was born the son of a pastor. After completing the teachers' seminar and attending the arts and crafts school in La Chaux-de-Fonds , where he also met his wife, the painter Jacqueline Maeder , the young artist moved to Paris . After a trip to Italy, Ramseyer settled back in his native Neuchâtel in 1942, but he remained connected to Paris. The Center Georges Pompidou has a Ramseyer sculpture in its collection.
In Switzerland, over 50 of his works adorn numerous schoolyards and public places, for example at the ETH Zurich , in Kreuzlingen , Thun , Montreux and Biel . But his works can also be seen in Italy , the USA , the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia .
