André Roussin

André Jean Paul Roussin (born January 22, 1911 in Marseille , † November 3, 1987 in Paris ) was a French theater actor and comedy poet. His play Die Schule der Gatten , which was performed with Theo Lingen and Hans Holt , achieved particular fame in German-speaking countries .

Life

Roussin was born in 1911 as the son of an insurance employee in Marseille. After visiting the Mélizan institution, he also worked in insurance from 1931. He then worked as a journalist for Petit Marseillais from 1933 to 1935 . Together with Louis Ducreux , he founded the acting company Le Rideau Gris in 1934 . After the Second World War, he switched from acting to stage poetry and wrote numerous plays, mainly tabloid comedies . Roussin is considered one of the most played dramatists in French post-war theater. Several of his plays were filmed, including Die kleine Hütte . He was also active as a screenwriter and published several books. In 1947 Roussin married Lucienne Deluy, with whom he had a son. He died of cancer in Paris in 1987.
