André W. Heinemann

André Wilfried Heinemann (born March 16, 1971 in Herne ) is a German economist and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life and work

After graduating from the Marie-Curie-Gymnasium in Recklinghausen in 1987 , Heinemann completed vocational training as a cutting machine operator specializing in turning technology (formerly: lathe operator). At the same time he attended the technical college for technology (evening form) in Castrop-Rauxel and Datteln between 1988 and 1990, and in 1990 he received his technical college entrance qualification .

In October 1990 Heinemann began training as an officer in the German Armed Forces, which he broke off in 1993. He then studied economics at the University of Essen with a focus on finance and international economic relations. In 1999 he finished his studies with a degree in economics and between 2000 and 2003 he worked as a research assistant for Rudolf Hickel at the University of Bremen . During this time, between 2000 and 2001, Heinemann worked as an external consultant for the parliamentary group of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the Bremen citizenship . His doctorate as Dr. rer. pole. took place in 2003. He then worked at the Financial Policy Research Center in Bremen. Heinemann had been junior professor for federal and regional financial relations at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Bremen since 2007 . After completing his habilitation in 2012, he has been Professor of "Federal and Regional Financial Relations" at the Department of Economics at the University of Bremen since March 2013 and, after the integration of the Financial Policy Research Center into the Institute for Labor and Economics (iaw) at the University of Bremen, head of the Department III: Regional Development and Financial Policy.

André W. Heinemann has been a visiting professor at the National Wadym Hetman University of Economics in Kiev (English Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman (KNEU)) in Kiev (Ukraine) as part of a research and teaching cooperation since March 2018 .

André W. Heinemann is married and has one daughter.

Political party

Heinemann has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 2001. From 2002 to 2007 he was a member of the district board of the Bremen-Nordost district association (formerly Schwachhausen, Horn-Lehe, Borgfeld). From November 2007 to November 2009 he was state board spokesman (state chairman) of the Bremen Greens .
