Andrea Boehm

Andrea Böhm (* 1961 in Munich ) is a German journalist .

Career

Böhm studied political science in Berlin and in the USA. She then graduated from the German School of Journalism .

She was America's correspondent for the taz . She worked for the Dossier der Zeit for two years , then returned to the USA, where she worked as a freelance journalist in New York for more than ten years for taz , die Zeit , Geo and others. She has been the editor of Die Zeit since 2006 . Since 2013 she is in Beirut correspondent of time for the Middle East.

Her focus is on Africa, especially the Congo , civil wars , rebels, war criminals and the international criminal court . For her non-fiction book God and the Crocodiles. A trip through the Congo she was nominated in 2011 for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in the non-fiction / essay category.
