Andreas Christian Pagenstecher

Andreas Christian Pagenstecher (born April 26, 1612 in Neuenhaus ; † December 19, 1677 in Kassel ) was a Hessian secret war council and war commissioner in Kassel.

Life

Andreas Christian Pagenstecher was a son of the lawyer Johann Pagenstecher (1575–1650) and Anna Lölevinck (1582–1655). He studied at several foreign universities jurisprudence ; so he matriculated on March 30, 1628 in Groningen and on May 15, 1630 in Leiden . Immediately after his return at the age of 21, Landgrave Wilhelm V of Hesse appointed him as secretary in the war chancellery in Kassel in 1633. Here he soon became general auditor with the character of a secret council of war. He also held the post of a war commissioner, took part in several campaigns with the Hessian army and attended several battles. After the peace agreement, Landgravine Amelie Elisabeth appointed him her senior bailiff in Hersfeld . After her death, Landgrave Wilhelm VI appointed him . back to Kassel in his previous position, where he was appointed guardianship councilor after his quick death.

Pagenstecher had married Cornelia Moll, daughter of the merchant Gerhard Moll and Anna von Eck, on October 6, 1652 in Wesel . He died on December 19, 1677 at the age of 65 in Kassel.
