Andreas Galau
Andreas Galau (born December 12, 1967 in West Berlin ) is a German civil servant and politician ( AfD ). He has been a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament since 2014 and its Vice President since 2019 .
Life
Galau comes from Berlin-Wedding . He attended the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Oberschule in Berlin-Spandau . After graduating from high school in 1987, he studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice in Berlin ( Diplom-Verwaltungswirt (FH) , 1990).
After completing his training at the Spandau District Office in 1992, Galau worked in what is now the Berlin Senate Department for Labor, Integration and Women . He initially worked in the budget department and then in the organization / IT department. The civil servant relationship for the life of the system administrator has been suspended since the state parliament mandate.
Galau is married and has two children. He lives in Hennigsdorf .

Political party
Galau was initially deputy chairman of the student union in Berlin. In terms of party politics, Galau was a member of the CDU from 1985 to 1987 , the Republican from 1987 to 1990 and the FDP from 1992 to 2013 .
In May 2013 he became a member of the AfD, of which he became district chairman Oberhavel ( AfD Brandenburg ) in December 2013 .
MP
In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2014 , Galau was a direct candidate for his party in constituency 7 (Oberhavel I) . He received 11.8 percent of the first votes and entered the 6th Brandenburg State Parliament via the state list (7th place) . He is a full member of the Petitions Committee (A2), the Committee on Budget and Finances (A11), the NSU Committee of Inquiry (UA 6/1) and, since 2020, the Judges Committee.
Vice-President of the State Parliament
In his function as vice-president of the state parliament, Galau tried to remove a current hour on the racist attack in Hanau 2020 from the agenda of the Brandenburg state parliament. After an urgent application by the CDU Brandenburg , the state constitutional court of Brandenburg ruled that Galau was "not entitled to a right of review based on the case law of the constitutional court" because he was obliged to be neutral.
