Andreas Johann Muck

Andreas Johann Muck (born May 14, 1851 in Egerland ; † January 15, 1925 in Ödenburg , Hungary ) was a Bohemian-Hungarian forest scientist .

Muck attended grammar school in Eger and then the higher forestry school in Weißwasser . He was then employed as a forest geometer in the Kleinwerscheditz lordship near Buchau . In 1874 he was called to Ödenburg as a forest adjunct and was appointed forest manager there due to his ability. He stayed that way until his death. He laid out forest paths in Ödenburg for the first time and was committed to the beauty of the city and its surroundings. In 1906 the Muckwarte named after him was opened in Ödenburg. After his death, a memorial was inaugurated on which he is honored as the beautifier of the city of Ödenburg. His son Andor Muck was also a forest scientist.
