Andreas Kraniotakes (born December 10, 1981 in Munich ) is a Greek - German mixed martial arts fighter who is currently competing in the heavyweight division . His nickname is Big Daddy . He is the current heavyweight champion of the German MMA Championship (GMC).

biography

Kraniotakes was born to a Greek father and a German mother. At the age of twelve he began to train judo . He remained loyal to this sport for the next nine years and was very successful in it. He won the Bavarian judo championships seven times and the southern German championships one time. At the German championship he reached fifth place. Today he has the brown belt in judo. In 2002 he also trained karate , boxing , kickboxing and wing chun . In 2005 he took part in the first Wing Chun championships in Germany, which were still a "no-holds-barred tournament". There he defeated two opponents by knockout each in the second round and won this tournament. In 2004 he started to train MMA and Muay Thai because he liked "no-holds-barred" .

Today Kraniotakes is one of the top 5 MMA fighters in Germany. In 2009 he was nominated by GroundandPound magazine for the category “Best German MMA Fighter”. In September 2010 he fought against Björn Schmiedeberg for the heavyweight title of Respect FC, but lost after a tough fight on points. In the new game "EA Sports MMA" from Electronic Arts , Kraniotakes is one of the 50 playable characters. On October 11, 2010, RTL II broadcast a special program in the Welt der Wunder series entitled “Weapon Man - With Fight Against Violence”, in which Andreas Kraniotakes was one of the protagonists.
