Andreas Mechel (born November 21, 1991 in Tegernsee ) is a German ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Starbulls Rosenheim in the ice hockey league since January 2020 .

Career

Andreas Mechel began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of TEV Miesbach , for whose senior team he made his first appearances in the third-class ice hockey league in the 2008/09 season . After relegation to the Bavarian Ice Hockey League , the goalkeeper played with Miesbach in the fourth division for two years. For the 2011/12 season he was committed by SC Bietigheim-Bissingen from the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . He spent most of the season with their youth team in the junior Bundesliga, but also made his debut for the professional team in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2012/13 season he was also in the squad of the professional team of SC Bietigheim-Bissingen.

Between 2017 and December 2019 he was under contract with EC Bad Tölz , then briefly with VER Selb and since mid-January 2020 with Starbulls Rosenheim .
