Andreas Raub

Andreas Raub (born September 18, 1967 in Münster ) is a German freelance artist , craftsman , commissioned painter and graphic artist . He is a member of the German Exlibris Society

Vita

Son of Annelise robbery , in 1986 he made his Abitur at Schillergymnasium he first learned in Munster, the craft of the bookbinder . From 1990 to 1995 he studied graphic design with Marjan Vojska and Rolf Escher at the Münster University of Applied Sciences .

Works

His works are represented in the Depping Gallery in Münster, Möller Gallery in Unna and Streiter Gallery in Soest. In the distance his works can be seen in the Zeche Nachtigall , German Mining Museum Bochum and in the Kakesbeck Foundation . In 1997 he won the Bischof Tenhumberg Prize for a Christmas oil painting. He mainly works as a commissioned painter and graphic artist . In 1995 he created his first bookplate , which plays an increasingly important part in his subsequent creative process. When asked what attracted him to this art form, he replied:

"It is the demanding work between your own imagination and the wishes of the customer"

Further focus areas are: portrait painting , wall painting and book illustrations for unique items . Although high-quality bookplates can also be designed on the computer and are therefore easier to reproduce, it is more important to him to implement creative ideas himself, which is why he also prefers etchings; although he is not averse to the new techniques.
