Andreas Schöggl

Andreas Schöggl LC (born October 22, 1974 in Herzogsdorf , Upper Austria ) is the Order Provincial (Territorial Director) for Central and Western Europe of the Legionaries of Christ .

Life

After graduating from the Episcopal Gymnasium at the Kollegium Petrinum in Linz, Andreas Schöggl joined the order of the Legionaries of Christ in Roetgen in 1993 and studied in Salamanca and Rome . He was assistant to the rector in the study center of the Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum , in charge of the historical archive and prefect of studies for the theology students of the order. He was ordained a priest on December 24, 2003 in Rome . He celebrated his home prime on April 25, 2004 in Altenberg near Linz . He completed a postgraduate course in dogmatics . and briefly took over the communication department in the General Management of the Legionaries of Christ.

From 2005 to 2010 he worked for the German-speaking section of the Vatican State Secretariat . Schöggl is significantly involved in the renewal process of the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ and has been secretary of the Central Commission for the revision of the Constitutions of the Legionaries of Christ since 2010.

Andreas Schöggl was appointed by Cardinal Velasio De Paolis , the Papal Delegate for the Order Congregation, as successor to Sylvester Heereman on April 15, 2012 as the new Order Provincial (Territorial Director) for Central and Western Europe. The appointment came after questioning the members of the territory with the approval of the General Council of Legionaries of Christ.
