Andreas Schenk (* May 24 or May 27 1982 in Buhlertal ) is a German international master in chess .

Life

He drew attention to his chess playing skills at an early age, so that he soon achieved the level of a strong international master (Elo 2500) under the training of (among others) Philipp Schlosser , Rustem Dautov and Viswanathan Anand at the Baden-Baden training center .

His successes include a victory at the German U20 youth championship in Überlingen in 2000 , winning the Mitropa Cup in 2003 with the German national team, third place at the German Blitz championship in 2005 and winning the NATO individual championships in 2005, 2006 and 2009.

Andreas Schenk played for OSG Baden-Baden until 2009 (from 2002 to 2004 in the 1st Bundesliga, then in the second Bundesliga South for the second team on board 1), after which he moved to FC Bayern Munich .

In the British Four Nations Chess League he played for the Slough Sharks from 2005 to 2007, in Austria in the 2002/03 season and again from 2009 to 2013 for the SK Fürstenfeld .

In France he played for Bischwiller from 2002 to 2006 .

With the Luxembourg club Gambit Bonnevoie he took part in the European Club Cup 2000 and achieved the second-best individual result on the second board.
