Andreas Schilling (handball player)

Andreas Schilling (born November 12,  1963 ) is a German entrepreneur in the field of marketing and a former handball player .

career

Schilling, who worked as a civil servant and sports instructor for the Federal Border Police in the mid-1980s , played for TSV Wernersberg. In 1986 he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with TSV Milbertshofen , later he played at VfL Bad Schwartau until 1993 . He was the captain in Bad Schwartau, and in 2002 he returned to the SG Schwartau on a temporary basis.

Professionally, Schilling worked as an advertising sales consultant at Bauer-Verlag , then from 1995 to 2001 at Burda-Verlag . There he was responsible for the advertising business of several Burda Group publishers. Between June 2001 and 2003 he headed the advertising department of the magazine Stern , from 2003 to the end of 2016 he was again employed by the Burda Group and was managing director of its advertising marketing company BCN GmbH. In this position he was involved in the expansion of this business area and in the increasingly international orientation of marketing, among other things through the establishment of a subsidiary focused on sports. After leaving Burda, Schilling founded a company with which he offers consulting services in the field of marketing and sports. From 2018 he also worked for a London advertising company, where he took over the areas of marketing and sales in German-speaking countries. In October 2019 he took over the management of the marketing company of the Bauer Group.

Schilling's son Gavin Schilling became a professional basketball player.
