Andreas Tyrone Dregen (* as Andreas Tyrone Svensson June 12, 1973 in Nässjö , Sweden ), known as Dregen , is a Swedish guitarist, songwriter and founding member of the rock bands Backyard Babies and Hellacopters .

Because of his passion for comics, he originally planned to become a full-time draftsman. However, his poor grades in art prevented him from entering an art college.

In 1987 he founded the Backyard Babies with school friends. With the Hellacopters he took the studio albums Supershitty to the Max! and Payin 'the Dues , but left the band in 1998.

In 1999 he was a member of the supergroup project Super $ hit666 together with Ginger ( The Wildhearts ), Nicke Andersson (Hellacopters) and the Swedish producer Tomas Skogsberg .

In 2004 he recorded the live acoustic album The Poet & The Dragon - Live Somewhere In This World with Tyla , which mainly contains songs by the Dogs D'Amour , but also two tracks by the Backyard Babies. In October of the same year he was again part of a supergroup: As 'Urrke T & The Midlife Crisis' he played a single with 3 punk covers with Urrke Thunman (Maryslim, Bizex-B) and Mans P. Mansson (The Maggotts).

In 2005 he released an album of the same name with the Snowracer project .

On October 26th, 2008, he had a guest appearance in Stockholm at the Hellacopters' farewell concert. He played along with the other band members (Gotta Get Some Action) Now! .

In 2009 he married the Swedish singer Pernilla Andersson and changed his last name from Svensson to Dregen . They have one son. On June 1, 2015, Dregen and Pernilla announced their separation.

From June 2011 he played guitar in the solo band of ex- Hanoi rock singer Michael Monroe , as the Backyard Babies were in a creative break. On March 6, 2014, his departure from Monroe's band was announced as he wants to focus on his solo career and future projects for the Backyard Babies.

On September 25, 2013 he released his first solo album Dregen , and this was followed by a European tour, partly together with Imperial State Electric .
