Andreas Weber (politician, 1878)

Andreas Philipp Weber (born August 10, 1878 in Bruchköbel , † July 20, 1955 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

The son of a weaver attended elementary school and completed an apprenticeship in blacksmithing in Hanau from 1894 to 1898 . He then went on a hike , moved to Griesheim am Main in 1901 and worked as a fire smith in Frankfurt am Main from 1908 to 1918.

Weber joined the Social Democrats and was chairman of the workers' council in Griesheim during the November Revolution . From December 1918 to March 1920 he worked as party secretary for the SPD district association Höchst-Homburg-Usingen, was an assessor at the Oberversicherungsamt in Wiesbaden in 1919 and an assistant in Frankfurt from 1920 to 1924. Later he worked as a cigarette manufacturer in Griesheim.

Weber was from 1916 to 1920 municipal councilor in Griesheim am Main. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the Prussian State Constitutional Assembly . In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1924.
