Andreas Wolfers

Andreas Wolfers (* 1958 in Flensburg ) is a German journalist and director of the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg.

Andreas Wolfers was born in Flensburg in 1958. After his traineeship at the Flensburger Tageblatt , he wrote for the sailing magazine Yacht and studied history and politics in Münster and Hamburg from 1980 to 1987 . From 1983 to 1985 he worked as a correspondent for several German daily newspapers in Jerusalem . Living as a freelance journalist in Hamburg since 1987, he first became a generalist, then from 1993 an editor at GEO and since 1999 has been the editor of GEO Special . Research took him to Afghanistan, Russia, Tibet, Brazil, Georgia and South Africa. In 2004 he was appointed editor-in-chief at Stern , and two years later he was appointed managing editor.

Since April 2007 Wolfers has been the successor to Ingrid Kolb in personal union head and managing director of the Henri-Nannen-Schule, where he has been teaching report writing since 1995 . He also held teaching positions at the Hamburg Academy for Journalism and the Journalism Department at Leipzig University .
