Andrei Sergejewitsch Jessipow ( Russian Андрей Сергеевич Есипов ; born May 9, 1980 in the Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Sokol Krasnoyarsk in the Vysschaja Hockey League since July 2013 .
Career
Andrei Jessipow began his career as a hockey player with Krylya Sowetow Moscow , for whose professional team he was active in the super league from 1996 to 1999 . In the following two and a half years, the defender played for his league rivals Lokomotiv Yaroslavl before he moved to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod during the 2001/02 season. By the end of the season he scored one goal in nine games for Torpedo. He then signed a contract with HK Lada Tolyatti , for which he was on the ice for three and a half years in the top Russian league. During the 2005/06 season he was finally committed by Metallurg Novokuznetsk , for which he played another year and a half in the Super League.
In the summer of 2007, Jessipow was signed by Severstal Tscherepowez . After another Super League season, he graduated in the 2008/09 season for Severstal in the newly founded Continental Hockey League 18 games, in which he gave two assists before he returned to HK Lada Tolyatti. After the team from Tolyatti had to withdraw to the new second Russian division, the Vysschaya Hockey League , he signed for the 2010/11 season with his ex-club Metallurg Novokuznetsk. For Metallurg he remained pointless in 51 KHL missions this season and received 22 penalty minutes. For the 2011/12 season he was committed by HK Donbass Donetsk from the Wysschaja Hockey League.
International
For Russia , Yessipov took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2000 , where he won the silver medal with his team. He contributed to this success with an assist in seven games.
