Andrej Križaj (born September 11, 1986 in Žirovnica ) is a Slovenian ski racer . He starts in all disciplines, but is particularly successful in the Super Combined , Super G and Downhill .

Career

Križaj competed in his first FIS race in December 2001 at the age of 15 and started two years later in the European Cup for the first time . He drew international attention at the Junior World Championship in Bardonecchia in 2005 , where he came fourth in the Super-G.

In January 2006, Križaj made his debut in the World Cup in the super combination of Wengen and immediately took his first and so far only World Cup point with 30th place. In December 2006 he was used a second time in the World Cup, but remained far outside the points.

In the European Cup, the Slovenian only achieved good placements from the 2007/08 season . In the super combination of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee on December 21, he finished third and was sixth in the two other super combinations of this season. This put him in third place in the final ranking of the disciplines.

In January and February 2008 Križaj had his next three appearances in the World Cup, the only result being a 34th place in the super combined of Val-d'Isère . In the 2008/09 season he went to a total of eight World Cup races at the start, but was only able to finish two races with placements over 50.

On December 4th, 2009, Križaj finished 28th in the Super Combined at Beaver Creek for the second time in the World Cup points after almost four years. His best World Cup result so far is 19th place in the Super-G of Val Gardena on December 18, 2009. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , he finished 33rd in the giant slalom and 37th in the downhill. In the Super-G and in the Super Combined, he didn't finish.
