Andrew Alexis D'Souza (born August 23, 1889 in Siolim , Goa , Portuguese India , † August 26, 1980 ) was Bishop of Poona .

Life

Andrew Alexis D'Souza received on 20 December 1919, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On May 12, 1949, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Poona. The retired Bishop of Poona, Hermann Döring SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on August 24 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Bombay , Valerian Gracias , and the auxiliary bishop in Calcutta , Joseph Alexander Fernandes .

On June 12, 1967, Pope Paul VI. the resignation put forward by Andrew Alexis D'Souza for reasons of age and appointed him titular bishop of Elephantaris in Proconsulari . On January 18, 1971 Andrew Alexis D'Souza renounced the titular Elephantaris diocese in Proconsulari.
