Andrew Jimenez

Andrew Jimenez (* 1972 in El Paso , Texas ) is an American animator , screenwriter and director , in 2006 for One Man Band for the Oscar in the category Short Film (Animated) was nominated.

Life

At the age of five, he and his family moved from El Paso to San Diego . He graduated from San Diego State University with a major in film. After graduating, he designed logos for an insurance company in San Diego. His first job at a film studio was at Warner Brothers, where he worked as an effects artist for digital effects on the animated films The Giant from Space and Osmosis Jones . He then worked on the feature film Spider-Man for Sony Studios.

In 2001 he finally moved to Pixar , where he worked as a digital artist on Finding Nemo and Die Monster AG and was involved as a co-director on The Incredibles . In 2005 he wrote the script and directed the short film One Man Band , for which he was nominated for an Oscar in the short film (animated) category.

He lives in Piedmont , California.
