Andrew King (music manager)

Andrew King (* 1942 ) is a British music manager . King, Peter Jenner and the original four members of Pink Floyd were partners at Blackhill Enterprises .

In 1966, King began with Jenner to look after the young band Pink Floyd. They founded Blackhill Enterprises together. In 1968, after Syd Barrett left , the company split from Pink Floyd. Blackhill artists included Marc Bolan , Roy Harper , Kevin Ayers , Ian Dury and The Clash . Blackhill also organized a number of free outdoor concerts in London's Hyde Park , including the Rolling Stones concert on July 5, 1969 .

After Blackhill Enterprises dissolved in the early 1980s, King continued to oversee Ian Dury and other artists. In 1992 he became General Manger of the music publisher Mute Song. King is an active member of the Performing Right Society (PRS), which advocates the rights of songwriters , composers and music publishers.
