Career
Peters began his career with the Georgetown Raiders in the Ontario Junior Hockey League and in 1997 moved to the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League . A year later, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected by the Buffalo Sabers in the second round in 34th place.
He spent his last season as a junior player with the Kitchener Rangers before moving to the Rochester Americans , the Sabers farm team in the AHL , in 2000 . In the second season with the Amerks he sat in the penalty box for a total of 388 minutes, which meant a league record. His brother Geoff was also used for ten games for the Amerks, with the brothers both scoring a goal together (the assist came from Andrew Peters, the goal was scored by Geoff).
From the 2003/04 season Andrew Peters was in the NHL squad of the Sabers and led them in the penalty statistics, while he hardly reached scorer points. The lockout - 2004/05 season he spent in the Swedish Allsvenskan in soil IK , where he came up with 196 penalty minutes in 22 games. After spending the 2009/10 season with the New Jersey Devils , Peters signed a one-year contract with the Florida Panthers in August 2010 , but was exchanged for Darcy Hordichuk of the Vancouver Canucks in early October . The Canucks did not use it in their farm team, but continued to use it with the Rochester Americans. On February 11, 2011, Peters declared his playing career over.
