Career
Darcy Hordichuk was drawn 180th in the sixth round by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft . Hordichuk played for the Phoenix Coyotes and Florida Panthers in recent years until he was transferred to the Nashville Predators for a four-round pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft . The Predators brought Hordichuk to Nashville because of his tough and very physical style of play. Before he moved to the Nashville Predators, he scored just six points in 130 games. On November 24, 2006 against the Los Angeles Kings , Hordichuk dealt a lot, especially with his fists, which earned him 27 penalty minutes and a suspension of three games.
Hordichuk also had his own radio show with the Predators, known as "The Darcy Hordichuk Show" . On June 20, Hordichuk's transfer rights for a draft pick were transferred to the Carolina Hurricanes , but they had to let him move to the Vancouver Canucks a few days later . In early October 2010, the Canucks exchanged him for Andrew Peters from the Florida Panthers . On July 1, 2011, he signed a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers . After the season, the contract was extended for another year. After not finding a new team for the 2013/14 season, he announced in March 2014 that he was retiring from active sports.
