Andrew Poje (born February 25, 1987 in Waterloo , Ontario ) is a Canadian figure skater who starts in ice dancing .

Career

Andrew Poje's ice dance partner has been Kaitlyn Weaver since 2006 .

In 2007 Weaver and Poje won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championship . In the same year they made their debut at world championships . They finished it in 20th place. The following year they improved to 17th place at the World Championships and made their debut at the Four Continents Championships , which they finished in fifth place.

In 2010, Weaver and Poje won the gold medal at the four continents championships in Jeonju, South Korea , but many competitors were not at the start due to the previous Olympic Games.

In their third participation in the world championships, the Canadians reached fifth place in 2011 in Moscow .

At the Four Continents Championships in 2012, Weaver and Poje won the bronze medal behind the two outstanding couples of recent years, their compatriots Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, and the Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White .

At the 2012 World Championships in Nice Weaver reached and Poje with fourth place her best result at the world championships . They also achieved personal bests in both segments and overall performance. With their free dance to the sad chanson Je suis malade , they created an emotional performance that was enthusiastically received by the audience. Coach Anselika Krylowa was deeply touched after the freestyle.
