Andrij Wertuk ( Ukrainian Андрій Верчук ; * 1990 ) is a Ukrainian natural track tobogganist . He has been competing in the World Cup since the 2009/2010 season and took part in a World Cup for the first time in 2011 .

Career

Andrij Wertuk made his international debut on January 10, 2010 in Umhausen , when he contested his first and only World Cup race in the 2009/2010 season , which he finished in 34th place out of 43 starters. In the overall World Cup, he finished 55th out of a total of 59 tobogganists who won World Cup points this winter. Wertuk was also registered for the 2010 European Championship in St. Sebastian and took part in the training runs there, but was not used in the race. So his first major international event was the 2011 World Cup in Umhausen. There Wertuk finished third from bottom to 38th place. After the World Cup, he took part in a race in the Intercontinental Cup in the last two World Cup races of the 2010/2011 season in Unterammergau and Olang , where he finished 27th and 30th, making him 42nd in the overall World Cup. At the World Cup final, Wertuk started in a doubles for the first time together with Ihor Senjuk . They took ninth place as the penultimate.

In the 2011/2012 season , Wertuk took part in three single-seater World Cup races, one of which he started in the newly created Nations Cup. He finished 30th in the World Cup and twelfth place in the Nations Cup at the season opener in Latzfons and was 37th in the overall World Cup. He did not take part in the 2012 European Championship.
