Andrija Puharich

Andrija Puharich , who also called himself Henry Karl Puharich , (born February 19, 1918 in Chicago , Illinois ; † January 3, 1995 in Dobson , North Carolina ) was an American neurophysiologist , parapsychologist , ufologist and author . Puharich was best known as the mentor of the Israeli stage magician Uri Geller .

Life

After graduating from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1947, Puharich devoted himself to parapsychology. Puharich claimed that he had regular contact with spirits from other stars. The messages from the aliens would be transmitted to him by highly intelligent extraterrestrial computers by means of tape , which dissolves into nothing immediately after being played.

In 1963 Puharich claimed that gravitational fields severely limit the possibilities of telepathy (thought transmission). As a result, thought transfers should be much easier in weightlessness. Puharich postulated that in this way a person could telepathically influence the control devices of a missile from Earth. Puharich concluded this from telepathy attempts which had shown that the "psi performances" are dependent on the phases of the moon . In Las Vegas, for example, the highest profits would be achieved on days around the full moon and around the new moon .

In 1971 Puharich brought the Israeli stage magician Uri Geller to the USA. As Puharich during a visit to Tel Aviv accidentally his camera -ready case in New York had forgotten almost emerging same from Geller "de- and rematerializes" and suddenly, in Tel Aviv hotel room.

Puharich holds several patents in the field of miniaturized hearing aids . One describes a miniaturized hearing aid that is located in a person's tooth.

For Puharich's theses on telepathy and teleportation , as for both pseudosciences per se, there is no scientifically proven evidence.
