Andy Ludyk

Andy Ludyk (born August 7, 1970 in Bonn , Germany) is a German music manager , music producer , music supervisor and publisher .

Life

Having grown up in the Rhineland and Hesse, Ludyk began working as a freelance music journalist (including at Soundcheck magazine ) in the late 1980s , and as a musician in various bands and together with other solo artists.

In 1995, through a television appearance, the first contact was made with the private television broadcaster SAT.1 , where Ludyk soon worked as a freelance audio producer and Pro Tools operator in the on-air promotion sector. In 1996 the production company "Andy K. Productions Ludyk oHG" was founded, renamed Ludyk² oHG at the beginning of 2013, based in Frankfurt / Main .

Ludyk was later permanently employed at SAT.1. After the station moved from Mainz to Berlin in 1998, its field of activity was expanded to include music editing areas such as rights clearing, music procurement, music production, cross-marketing and cooperation development. As an audio producer / music editor, Ludyk was the link between the music industry, SAT.1-New Business Development and the editorial teams who created the program in cooperation with the legal department responsible for licensing issues.

In the first half of 2000, Ludyk was entrusted with the development of his own music label structure at Senator Film AG as “Head of Audio”. After Borris Brandt, the board member responsible for this division, changed to Endemol Germany , the music department headed by Ludyk was integrated into Senator Film Produktion GmbH, where Ludyk was Head of Music Division under Benjamin Herrmann and Gerhard von Halem film projects such as u. a. After outsourcing the Senator Film Music Department, Ludyk is not only working on his own projects in his various companies but also in the service sector as a marketing, press and production consultant for branded companies, broadcasters and production houses, as well as a nationally and internationally recognized music supervisor, music producer, license Expert and consultant for media companies for digital marketing of audiovisual content (music, video, sheet music, literature, etc.) and related digitization strategies.

Since 2002, Ludyk has also been active as a freelance and independent court expert in the areas of music usage in advertising, television and film as well as other copyright issues.

Ludyk has been working with Cologne-based media lawyer, music manager and publisher Stephan Benn under the name Benn & Ludyk Music Management since 2012 and looks after artists such as u. a. the band MBWTEYP.

In addition, Ludyk took over the management of the Berlin and Frankfurt am Main-based production network dasDUR, in which composers, arrangers , scorers, sound engineers and music producers of various genres and the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg cooperated under the creative leadership of producer Christian Steinhäuser .

In 2013 Ludyk became "Head of New Media & Digital Sales" of the Hanoverian label SPV and worked there with international artists such as Kaiser Chiefs , Motörhead , Running Wild , Axel Rudi Pell , Mono Inc. , The Intersphere , Die Krupps , The Mission , The Game , Mothers Finest and Melissa Etheridge together. His areas of responsibility there included the digital flanking of classic label work and the expansion of the digital department into a full-service media provider for independent sales labels and self-marketing artists.

In 2014 Ludyk founded the soundtrack label Media Recordings together with the Cologne composer Matthias Hornschuh and his management partner Stephan Benn . The original soundtrack of the film Ironclad2: Battle for Blood (2014) was released by SPV as the label's first release .

The above areas - both in legal and creative terms - are also dealt with by Ludyk in his work as a lecturer at various established institutions on behalf of various educational institutions.

Ludyk also works with various artists as a studio and live musician in the areas of drums and percussion.

Association work and honorary positions

For the Association of Independent Music Companies eV (VUT), which represents more than 1,300 independent companies in the German music industry, Ludyk was co-founder and regional councilor of the regional group VUT-Mitte (for the states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Thuringia) from 2008 to December 2012 volunteer working as a link between the member companies and local politics, as well as the general economy.

For the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party, Ludyk is involved as a party member in the field of media (focus on creative industries) and cultural policy and is a member of the associated Hessian state working groups for media (LAG Medien) and culture (LAG Kultur).

Another voluntary field of activity is the non-profit cultural work in the areas of musical support for young talent and charity events (e.g. for refugee aid, homeless projects and various AIDS aid), which Ludyk has been responsible for organizing since the beginning of the 90s.
