Angèle Delasalle (born February 25, 1867 in Paris ; died August 26, 1939 in Saint-Martin-de-Ré ) was a French painter and etcher .

Life

Delasalle first attended the "Institution des Dames Augustines anglaises de Neuilly" She studied from 1880 to 1890 at the Académie Julian and was a student of the artists Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant , Jean-Paul Laurens and Jules-Joseph Lefebvre . In 1888 she made her debut with a portrait of a woman in the salon of the Société des Artistes Français . In the 1890s she began to occupy herself with figurative representations, in particular with female nudes . In 1899 she received a state scholarship to travel to Italy. In addition to scenes from the world of work and portraits of painters such as Pierre Prins (1907), she made landscapes such as the views from Greenwich Park or pictures of animals. She began to make etchings around 1904. Her works have been shown in exhibitions in Paris, Liège and Munich. She lived at 3 rue Jean Baptiste Dumas in Paris.

Delasalle was a member of the “Societé Internationale de Peinture et Sculpture” and a founding member of the Société du Salon d'Automne . She received several medals at exhibitions in 1897 Returning from the Hunt (Salon des Artistes français) and for a prehistoric painting or a silver medal at the World Exhibition in 1900. The travel grant was awarded to her by the “Conseil supérieur des Beaux-Arts”.
