Angus MacKinnon ( December 31, 1850 - July 10, 1880 ) was a Scottish football player . MacKinnon played in the 1870s - the early days of football for Queen's Park FC , the oldest club in Scotland, founded in 1867 .

Career

Angus MacKinnon played at least from 1873 to 1875 for the Scottish club FC Queen's Park, the oldest football club in Scotland, which was founded on July 9, 1867. With the club he was able to win this with the team at the first edition of the Scottish Cup in 1873/74 . In the following year 1875 , the title was successfully defended at Hampden Park against FC Renton . MacKinnon scored once as goalscorers in the 3-0 final win, as well as Billy MacKinnon (not related) and Thomas Highet .

On March 7, 1874 MacKinnon completed an international match for the Scottish national football team against England on Hamilton Crescent in what is now Partick , part of Glasgow . Scotland won the game in front of around 7,000 spectators 2-1, MacKinnon scored the winning goal in the 47th minute.
