Anian Christoph Wimmer

Anian Christoph Wimmer (born May 4, 1973 in Memmingen ) is a German - Australian journalist , publicist and author .

Career

Wimmer comes from an Upper Bavarian family and grew up in South Africa and Bavaria. Wimmer studied philosophy, sinology and German. From 1997 to 2010 he lived mostly in Australia. There he was, among other things, program manager and editor- in- chief at Australian public service broadcaster , the Special Broadcasting Service ; in the meantime also acting head of the entire radio and online area. He has been based in the Bavarian Oberland since 2011 . As a producer, speaker, reporter and author, Wimmer has produced and published stories for “ Heute.de ”, Pro Sieben , Münchner Merkur . The journalist was also a seminar leader in news journalism at Monash University and an honorary research fellow in communication studies at his alma mater, the University of Melbourne . From January 2013 to the end of September 2015, Wimmer was editor-in-chief of the Münchner Kirchenzeitung and head of the print editorial team at the Sankt Michaelsbund . Since October 2015, Wimmer has been editor-in-chief of the German edition of the international Catholic News Agency , which was founded at the same time and belongs to EWTN , the Catholic media company based in Alabama, USA.

Wimmer has been married to cancer researcher Sabine Wimmer-Kleikamp since 2001. The couple have four children.
