Anita Nergaard

Anita Nergaard (born December 16, 1967 ) is a Norwegian diplomat . She has been the Norwegian ambassador to Singapore since 2017 .

Life

Anita Nergaard has held the title of Siviløkonom from the Norwegian Business School in Bergen since 1990 . There she also received a master's degree in economics and received her PhD in 1993. From 1993 to 1995 she worked for the Norwegian central bank, Norges Bank .

Diplomatic career

She has been in the Foreign Service since 1995 . Her first assignment abroad was from 1997 to 2000 as second secretary at the Norwegian embassy in Ankara , then as first secretary at the Norwegian NATO delegation in Brussels . From 2005 she was department director in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, first in the department for security guidelines , then in the departments for global security and crisis management, the Commonwealth of Independent States and from 2010 to 2012 in the department for Russia, Eurasia and regional cooperation. From 2012 to 2017 she was deputy of the Norwegian permanent mission to NATO in Brussels.

Since 2017 she has been the successor to Tormod Cappelen Endresen as ambassador in Singapore. On October 25, 2017, she was accredited there by President Halimah Yacob .
