Anja Brandt (born February 15, 1990 in Hamburg ) is a German national volleyball player .

Career

Anja Brandt began her career in her hometown with the Elmshorn volleyball community . In 2006 she joined the junior team at VC Olympia Berlin , with whom she initially played in the second division , and since 2007 also in the first division. The middle blocker became world champion in Mexico in 2009 with the national junior team . She has been playing in the volleyball Bundesliga since 2009 at Schweriner SC , where she was German champion in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and won the DVV Cup twice. Brandt is also regularly represented in the Champions League with the Schwerin women and was even able to reach the playoffs with the club in the 2012/13 season .

At the beginning of the 2013/14 season , Brandt had to undergo serious shoulder surgery. As a result of this operation, she was sidelined for the entire season due to injury. In December 2016, Brandt fell seriously ill again. The SSC then signed the American Hannah Tapp as a replacement. The disease did not allow a return to the 2017/18 season. Brandt has not been part of the Schwerin squad since then.

With the national team , Anja Brandt won the Europa League in 2013 and was runner-up in Europe .
