Anja Heinrich (born June 14, 1971 in Elsterwerda ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament from 2009 to 2018 and has been Mayor of Elsterwerda since February 2018.

Life

Anja Heinrich grew up in Hohenleipisch with an older sister. Her father was a vocational school teacher and the mother was in charge of a construction department. After graduating from high school, Anja Heinrich studied music / German at the Zwickau University of Education from 1988 to 1991 and social affairs with a major in psychology at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences from 1991 to 1995 . She completed her studies with the academic degree Diplom-Sozialpädagogin . From 2006 to 2009 she completed further training at the Berlin Institute for Family Therapy (BIF) to become a systemic corporate and family consultant. Until 2007 she worked as managing director of the social station Ambulante Pflege Doberlug-Kirchhain gGmbH and since 1998 as an employee in the Diakonisches Werk Elbe-Elster e. V. in social and psychological counseling. Since 2009 she has been chairwoman of the Heimatverein Elsterwerda and the surrounding area .

Anja Heinrich is a Protestant, has two children and in 2013 married the Christian Democratic politician Christian Jaschinski , who has had the double name Heinrich-Jaschinski since then . Both had two children each from previous relationships.

Anja Heinrich has been a member of the CDU since 2001 and has been deputy chairwoman of the CDU district association Elbe-Elster there since 2007. Since 2008 she has also been chairwoman of the Elbe-Elster Women's Union. From 2003 to 2014 she was involved in local politics as chairwoman of the Elsterwerda City Council and from 2008 as deputy chairwoman of the CDU district council group Elbe-Elster.

In 2009 she was elected to the state parliament through a direct mandate in the Elbe-Elster II constituency, where she was a member of the committee for science, research and culture and spokeswoman for cultural policy for the CDU parliamentary group. From 2009 she was spokeswoman for cultural policy of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament. From 2011 to 2013 she was chairwoman of the Brandenburg Women's Union. In November 2012 she was elected Secretary General of the Brandenburg CDU ; she resigned from this position in February 2015. In 2014 Anja Heinrich won her direct mandate again and achieved the highest voting result of all CDU candidates in Brandenburg. From October 2014 to May 2015 she was deputy CDU parliamentary group leader. At the beginning of July 2017 she was elected spokeswoman for the foundation of the Freedom-Conservative Awakening - the Brandenburg Union of Values .

On September 24, 2017, Anja Heinrich was elected Mayor of Elsterwerda for a term of eight years with 61.7% of the valid votes . She took up this position on February 1, 2018. She therefore renounced her mandate in the state parliament on January 31, 2018.

Furthermore, Anja Heinrich is also involved in the region outside of politics as a member of the German War Graves Commission and as a member of the Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft nature reserve association.
