Anja Stoeck
Anja Stoeck (* 1966 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). From February 2015 to March 2019 she was state chairwoman of Left Lower Saxony .
Life
Stoeck grew up in Hamburg and graduated from high school in 1985. She then trained as a physiotherapist . From 1989 she worked in a hospital before starting in 1996 in a physiotherapy practice in Winsen (Luhe) .
Anja Stoeck is a member of the board of the anti-fascist educational institution Heideruh.
Political career
Stoeck was a member of the Socialist Youth of Germany - Die Falken - until 1988 , when she became a member of the SPD , which she left in 1989. In 2005 Stoeck became a member of the WASG and founded the district association of the Harburg district there . She is a member of the Harburg-Land district board.
After the Bundestag election in 2009 , Stoeck worked for Johanna Voss, a member of the Lower Saxony Bundestag, until 2013 .
Anja Stoeck has been a member of the Lower Saxony state executive committee of the Left Party since 2013. At the 5th state party conference on February 7 and 8, 2015, Anja Stoeck was elected alongside Herbert Behrens as the state chairman of the state party Die Linke Niedersachsen . She was confirmed in office at the 6th state party conference in Osnabrück on March 4th and 5th, 2017. Her new co-chair was the Bundestag member Pia Zimmermann , with whom she formed the first female dual leadership of the Left Party at the state level. However, Zimmermann resigned from her party office in June 2018 because she was unable to “live up to the great responsibility and my own claim to political cooperation that really serves the regional association of our party”. Heidi Reichinnek was chosen as her successor.
