Anja Veum (born June 30, 1979 ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Veum, which started for the Koll IL , made its first international appearance at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1998 in Pontresina . There she finished 22nd over 5 km freestyle. The following year she won the bronze medal with the relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer . She also took 19th place over 5 km classic and eighth place over 15 km freestyle. In March 1999, she made her debut in Oslo in the World Cup , winning 41st place over 30 km classic and tenth place with the relay. In the 1999/2000 season brought in Ulrichen with the 26th place over 5 km freestyle and the 23 place at the Transjurassienne their first World Cup points and reached the 66th place in the overall World Cup their best overall result. She repeated this overall result in the following season with four placements in the points. In March 2001 she achieved her best individual placement in the World Cup with 17th place over 5 km freestyle in Borlänge . At the U23 World Championships in 2002 in Val di Fiemme , she finished 14th in the sprint, seventh in the 15 km mass start race and sixth in the skiathlon . She completed her 22nd and last individual World Cup race in February 2004 in La Clusaz , which she finished in 29th place over 10 km freestyle.
