Anka Feldhusen (* 1966 in Elmshorn , Germany ) is a German diplomat . Since July 2019 she has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kiev , Ukraine .

Life

Anka Feldhusen graduated from the Kiel School of Academics in 1985 and then studied political science , Slavic and English studies at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel (1985–1987) and at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris (1987–1990), where she received her diploma. This was followed by a course for senior foreign service at the training and further education center of the Foreign Office in Bonn (1993–1994).

From 1994 to 1997 she was press and protocol officer at the German embassy in Kiev . She completed a master's degree in “International Relations” at the Fletcher School in Medford (1997–1998).

From 1998 to 2001 she was protocol officer at the   Foreign Office in Bonn and Berlin . During this time in 2000 she headed the Foreign Office in Prizren for two months . She then worked as a consultant in the EU coordination staff at the Berlin Foreign Office (2001–2002), Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Havana (2002–2005), Head of Training at the Berlin Foreign Office (2005–2009), Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Kiev (2009–2015), Head of Division East Africa at the Berlin Foreign Office (2015–2016) and Head of Division in the Department of Fundamental Foreign Policy at the Office of the Federal President in Berlin (2016–2019). She has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kiev since July 2019 .
