The German Embassy in Kiev is Germany's most important foreign representation in Ukraine . The Federal Republic of Germany has been officially represented in Ukraine (at that time still part of the Soviet Union ) since 1989 , initially through the Consulate General in Kiev ; since January 1992, after Ukraine gained independence in 1991, with a diplomatic mission. The embassy district includes Ukraine.

The embassy is located in the center of Kiev on the Bohdan Khmelnitsky Street ( Вулиця Богдана Хмельницького ) number 25 and the visa section is located in the office building "101 Tower" in Lev Tolstoy Street ( вулиця Льва Толстого ) number 57th

Consulates

Since March 2000 an honorary consul in Lviv , since July 2008 an honorary consul in Odessa and from summer 2009 to 2014 a consulate general in Donetsk has also been looking after the interests of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Donetsk Consulate General has been based in Dnipro since 2015 . In 2012, an honorary consul of the Federal Republic of Germany began her official business in Kharkiv . The office of the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany opened in Chernivtsi in 2018 .
