The German Embassy Jakarta is the official diplomatic representation of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Indonesia . The German ambassador in Jakarta has also had double accreditation for East Timor since 2002 . Peter Schoof has been the German Ambassador in Jakarta since 2018 .

history

Diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Indonesia have existed since 1952; the embassy in Jakarta was established on June 25, 1952. The GDR Consulate General in Jakarta, established in 1954, was converted into an embassy in 1972 and existed until German reunification in 1990.
