The German Embassy Brasília is the official diplomatic representation of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Federal Republic of Brazil . Heiko Thoms has been Germany's ambassador to the Brazilian capital Brasília since 2020 .

history

After the first German diplomatic branches had existed in Brazil since 1867, the representation in Rio de Janeiro was elevated to the status of the first regular German embassy in the largest South American country in 1937 . From 1960, Brazil gave itself a new capital, Brasília , and in 1970 the German embassy also moved there.

location

Like most embassies, the German diplomatic mission resides in Avenida das Nações in the capital Brasília , in quadrant 807, section 25 ( Portuguese : Qd. 807, lot 25).
