The German Embassy Beijing is the official and highest diplomatic representation of Germany in the People's Republic of China . With 240 employees, around half of whom are local , it is one of the largest German missions abroad . Clemens von Goetze has been Germany's ambassador to China since September 6, 2018 . His representative is the envoy Johannes Regenbrecht. The German diplomatic mission in the Republic of China (Taiwan) is the German Institute Taipei .
